It is easy to become distracted with ‘correct theology’, or discovering ‘a deeper and more mystical’ understanding of certain texts in Scripture. It can be extremely enjoyable! It can however, distract us from actually ‘living out the Faith within us’. We can easily forget some of the key expressions of faith we have been called to ‘live out’. The disciples and later ‘The people of the way’ or ‘Christians’ didn’t have ‘Bible Studies’ and ‘Greek & Hebrew’ classes. They were excited to live out the simplicity of what Jesus taught, and what the disciples taught. Perhaps there is value in revisiting those things that gave the early church so much hope and conviction.
