There was great joy when Jesus rose from the dead.  Looking back at the story, we can observe a deeper love that had been at work the whole time.  In a story of “heroes & villains’, even the villains are loved just as deeply as everyone else.  Ponder that this Easter.

Those who had a hope in a violent Jesus, were thrilled to see or hear of Jesus turning over tables.  Finally permission to be vengeful.  However, Jesus modelled and taught the exact opposite of what they were hoping for.  He constantly stole the thunder from those hoping for power and superiority.  He turned over ‘rolls’, he turned over ‘faulty concepts of his Father’, he turned hearts towards love and humility.  This Easter, ‘look for’ those subtle messages in the big storylines.  You will find humility, grace and love.  Enjoy!!

The ‘image of god’ most of us have been served at best is ‘incomplete’.  Some of the images are flat out misguided and wrong.  None of them are 100% accurate.  We have so much to learn about ‘who’ God is and I have a hunch this conversation will be helpful and therapeutic for those who have been raised with an ‘angry god’ complex.  Enjoy!!
