Maybe it is time to reset yourself to your ‘factory defaults’, to your ‘original design’.  Let’s consider ways to resolve in advance our responses to events in 2020, instead of just ‘reacting’.

  • Nehemiah resolved to act when he heard difficult news
  • Joseph ‘changed’ his resolve with incomplete date was updated with correct date
  • Daniel resolved well in advance, before he was confronted with a conflict or crisis

“Fear Not” is a common phrase communicated through out the Scriptures when a ‘divine encounter’ takes place.  “Fear Not” is communicated four times throughout the Christmas story.  Perhaps when something is repeated so often, we should take note and dig deeper to find out what that means.   Let ‘Love’ rule instead.  Enjoy this final ‘Advent’ message of hope and encouragement.

The Call Of Christmas – “What If Mary Represents “Us”?”

WHOA!  Mary!! What if Mary represents all of us??  She had Christ put into her without asking?  She was from Nazareth, a town of no good reputation.  She was young, innocent, and not indoctrinated by ‘higher Jewish education.  What if it is true that Christ has already been placed in all of us?  What if the ‘Light of Christ’ really does shine through ‘all things’?  What if you feel you are not good enough and have every excuse why God can’t use you?  What if you are not ‘schooled’ in all the latest or most ancient theological education?  Perhaps the Gospel is much simpler that what we have been told.  Enjoy this encouraging message and may you find Hope and Joy today!

The first miracle after the day of Pentecost happened at the ‘Beautiful Gate’, to a marred lame man sitting in front of it.  Peter and John were drawn toward the man, and the man was drawn towards the two disciples.  God has no difficulty getting your attention, and when He does get your attention, ‘awakening’ happens.  Enjoy!!

What was the motive for the ‘early church’ to meet?  What were the rules, policies and bylaws?   Acts 2 is the launch of ‘the Church’, they were figuring things out.  They were motivated by…wait for it….LOVE!  I think the ‘church’ today needs to revisit the original reason they met.   Even this little church in Waterloo is ‘unlearning’ systems never meant to exist, but we are also learning how be more loving people.  We haven’t arrived, learning slowly.  Enjoy!!

Peter is now embolden by what he has witness in relation to the resurrection of Jesus and the experience of the Holy Spirit anointing the group in the upper room.  Peter builds a ‘case for Christ’ as he shares with the listeners what the meaning of David’s prophecies meant and that they have been fulfilled!!  As a result over 3000 people are baptized and the birth of the ‘real church’ begins!  Enjoy!!

What happened after Jesus rose from the dead?  How did the disciples and others react after they witnessed the resurrection?   Today we are doing a ‘trailer’ of the last four episodes of ‘the Gospels’, each one recording some of the events after the resurrection.  It may surprise you to see ‘who’ Jesus appeared to, and who he did not appear to.  This observation should give all of us hope that Jesus in interested in EVERYONE, not just an elite few.  There is much we can learn from this, and most of it will not look anything like ‘man-made’ religion…it will look like Christ!  Enjoy!!
