The inspiration behind the “40 Day Faith-bit Grace Journey” comes in part from a unique fitness tool I have called a ‘fitbit’. This little unit attaches to my belt or I keep it in my pocket. Some of the benefits of this resource are:
- it records every step I take throughout the day.
- It counts how many sets of stairs I’ve climbed,
- it shows me the distance travelled,
- calories burned, and
- shows how often I’ve been active in a day.
Now that I have this tool, I’m very aware of it in my pocket and I look at it often, trying to see how many steps I’ve taken. My goal is to reach 10,000 steps a day. The other night I was shy of my goal and I walked in one place, watching a tv show, until I met my goal. It has become a fun motivator.
Today, my wife and I went out for a walk and before we left, we each checked our ‘fitbits’ to see who has more steps for the day! It has been a fun challenge between us to see if we can reach our goals for the day. That mutual encouragement has been very effective in staying active and aware that we need to take care of our physical health.
In the same way, I realized we have a ‘Faith-bit’ living inside us, but we are not always aware of His presence in us. So, over the next 40 days, I’m writing about things to help myself and others, remember who is living in us, God himself! It all begins with one powerful bible verse in the book of Colossians:
1:27 For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
Let this verse be the proof and the encouragement that Jesus is fully present in your life. I want to encourage all those reading this blog that even when we are not ‘aware’ of his presence in us, it does not change the fact that His is in fact still there! He won’t leave us, ever.
Look for ways to encourage others around you. You may or may not have to use words. It may be expressed by a helping hand or your caring presence around someone who needs it. This is powerful encouragement Listen and see what Papa God may inspire you to say, do, or think!
QUESTIONS FOR THE DAY
- Do you believe the Bible when it says ‘Christ lives in you”.
- Do you realize that if he lives IN YOU, that there is NO DISTANCE between you and God?
- Meditate on that fact for the rest of the day.
VERSE FOR THE DAY
(1 Thess. 5:8-11 8 But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. 9 For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. 10 Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. 11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.)

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, please show me how true it is that you live inside me. please show me that you are ALWAYS near and in me. Help me to believe this fact today!
Thanks Mike
Those are encouraging words. I find myself far to often with my headphones on in my own personal background noise. It is always good to be in fellowship with those who speak a Word of awareness. Jesus is the true symphony and navigator of all life!

If you are struggling to sense an awareness of Christ in you today…talk to him…it is like the communion of the Trinity…reciprocal…perichoretic in-each-otherness…thank him..speak into their lovingkindness towards you and ask Holy Spirit to take you deeper into knowing and intimacy with them and watch your day explode in the little things as they woo you and carry you …yes we slip in and out of awareness, but their light is constant in us and through us ….beautiful Mike “live in the light”…illuminating Life Light of Christ in us in Father of Loving One, Father of Lights…we were created to awaken arise and shine 🙂
